Points of Interest

The Town of Clinton was named in honor of George Clinton, Governor of New York during the Revolutionary War. It became a town in 1788 and was reduced in size in 1821, when Hyde Park and Pleasant Valley were formed from it. There are six hamlets within the town: Clinton Corners, Clinton Hollow, Schultzville, Pleasant Plains, Hibernia and Bullshead. The historic Villages of Rhinebeck and Hyde Park are close by for everyday conveniences. Clinton Corners is home to Clinton Vineyard and winery, a member of the Dutchess Wine Trail.
