In the year 1703, a patent of 10,000 acres was approved which included what is now known as the Town of Hyde Park. With the appeal of the majestic Hudson River, Hyde Park became a haven for the wealthy. Most notable were Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, who maintained fabulous estates that today are included in the National Park System. Hyde Park is also the location of the renowned and extraordinarily beautiful Culinary Institute of America. For the river and boat lovers there are three marinas. Dinsmore,an 18-hole golf course offers beautiful views and a restaurant facility.
