The Lakeland School District serves the municipalities of Yorktown, Cortlandt, and Somers in Westchester County; Philipstown and Putnam Valley. Hugging the Hudson River for 15 miles, Cortlandt is located in the northwest corner of Westchester County. The Town of Cortlandt is comprised of two villages: Croton-on-Hudson and Buchanan, plus several hamlets including Montrose, Crugers and Verplanck.
