Points of Interest

The Somers School District serves the municipalities of Amawalk, Granite Springs, Lincolndale, Purdys, Shenorock and Somers. Located in the northeast part of Westchester, Somers is known as the “cradle of the American circus”, after Hachaliah Bailey bought an elephant which along with other attractions came to form the modern circus. In addition to the Elephant Hotel, residents can enjoy the Muscoot Farm, Lasden Park and Arboretum and Reis Park. Large corporate facilities, IBM and Pepsi, are both located within this suburban enclave.
