Dover is a town full of activities for the outdoor lover. Part of the Appalachian Trail runs through Dover. In nearby Wingdale is the Thomas J. Boyce Park, which has spectacular views of Harlem Valley and West Mountain. It also offers numerous hiking trails and a playground for children. Less than five miles away across the Connecticut border is the Macedonia Brook State Park, a 2,300 acre park with views of the Catskills and the Taconic Mountains. It offers activities that include fishing, camping, hiking, and picnicking.
