The Town of East Fishkill comprises the hamlets of Fishkill Plains, Hillside Lake, Hopewell Junction, Hortontown, Gayhead, Pecksville, Shenandoah, Stormville, Wiccopee and Lomala. Originally part of the Town of Fishkill, it was formed in 1849. The name ‘Fishkill” is derived from two Dutch words of “vis” meaning fish and “kill” meaning stream. Once a rural community, it is now a township of over 26,000 residents and growing. East Fishkill offers its residents a wide variety of activities and recreation areas located throughout the town.
