Mt. Pleasant and its villages of Sleepy Hollow and Pleasantville as well as the hamlets of Hawthorne, Pocantico Hills, Thornwood and Valhalla are located in Central Westchester. Sleepy Hollow is probably the best known of Mt. Pleasant's hamlets and villages, having been made famous by Washington Irving's Headless Horseman. The Horseman Bridge and Philipsburg Manor are both located in Sleepy Hollow, making it a popular spot for tourists.
