The Town of Pleasant Valley was established in 1821 and is comprised of the Hamlets of Pleasant Valley, Salt Point and Washington Hollow. What is now the Hamlet of Pleasant Valley was, in 1762, called Charlotte. At that time it was part of the Nine Partners Grant. Salt Point was an agricultural community, which began to grow in the 1840’s. The area offers a placid community lifestyle that includes many world-class equestrian training, board and horse care services. Pleasant Valley is also home to the 590-acre James Baird Sate Park which includes an 18-hole golf course.
