Ardsley is located inland from the Hudson River and is surrounded by the lush greenery of its spacious parks. Incorporated in 1896, Ardsley has a quaint Village Green and two shopping centers. A variety of local shops are supplemented by the larger neighboring department stores of White Plains. The New York State Thruway, Sprain Parkway and Saw Mill River Parkway provide easy access to all of Westchester and nearby New York City. The bus line from Yonkers to White Plains passes through Ardsley via Rte. 9A. Metro-North services Ardsley with the Hudson Line in Dobbs Ferry, and the Harlem Line in Hartsdale, with a commuting time of 38 minutes.
 
Educational Facilities
Concord Road Elementary School provides education for students K-4. Grades 5-8 are housed on Ashford Avenue, in the newest school building complete with indoor swimming pool. Ardsley High School, grades 9-12, is located on Farm Road. You can reach the Board of Education at (914) 693-6300. Nursery School facilities are found at the Ardsley United Methodist Church and a cooperative unit on American Legion Drive. Concorde Road Elementary School also offers before and after school childcare for grades K-4. The Lyceum Kennedy, a Japanese School, is also located in Ardsley.
 
Recreational Facilities
Excellent facilities and programs provide yearround enjoyment for Ardsley residents. B. Wilbur McDowell Park on Heatherdell Road and half of V. Everett Macy Park of the Westchester County Park system lie within the Village limits. The newest facility, Ashford Park, located near the Middle School off Ashford Avenue, offers platform and tennis courts, skateboard ramps as well as a children's playground. School sponsored summer recreation programs are also available. An excellent little league association with both softball and baseball is popular with both children and parents. The pool at the Middle School is open on a membership basis to all residents of the quad village. There are, in addition, several private swim clubs and tennis clubs in the Village and its surrounding areas.
 
Houses of Worship
There is a Methodist, an Episcopal and one Roman Catholic Church in the Village of Ardsley. The Woodlands Temple and Greenburgh Hebrew Center in nearby villages also serve the Ardsley population.
